Trabzonspor are the second Turkish club to be linked with a January loan move for Rangers star Ridvan Yilmaz as fan frustrations continues around his summer transfer.

The Gers paid a reported £3.4m rising to £5m [Sky Sports] to sign the 21-year-old Turkish left-back from Besiktas following the departure of Calvin Bassey this summer.

But despite the big money move Ridvan Yilmaz has seen limited game time at Ibrox and fans are frustrated that the club’s most expensive summer signing is yet to make an impact on the team.

As a result, the likes of Fanatik are claiming that Turkish champions Trabzonspor are eyeing up a potential loan move in January with Ridvan Yilmaz signing a five-year deal at Ibrox.

Reports from the country are notorious so please take it with a pinch of salt but it’s not the first time the six-times capped Turkey talent has been linked with a homecoming.

Trabzonspor linked with Rangers star Ridvan Yilmaz

Earlier in the month Galatasaray were being linked with a January move for Ridvan so the reports show – at the very least – that journalists in Turkey are monitoring the player’s situation in Scotland.

Trabzonspor pose an interesting link for Ridvan Yilmaz, with the Turkish side the current champions of the country but at present in 7th place in the Super Lig.

They are also currently playing in the Europa League with Trabzonspor currently sitting in second place in Group H of this season’s competition.

But it is clear from within the support that Rangers fans would much rather see the player involved more in the Ibrox squad with Ridvan Yilmaz making only four appearances and one start this season.

Current left-back Borna Barisic is also an inconsistent presence at left-back for Rangers with the defender coming in for heavy criticism following the 7-1 hammering against Liverpool.

Meanwhile, one former Rangers star has been spotted back in Ibrox after leaving in 2020.
