Rangers left-back Ridvan Yilmaz has been linked with a move back to Turkey and Galatasaray just months after signing a five-year deal at Ibrox.
The Gers could reportedly wind up paying up to £5m for the 21-year-old Turkish international following his summer move from Istanbul outfit Besiktas.

But so far Ridvan has had a minimal impact at Rangers as the player’s arrival is met with a subsequent upturn in form from Croatian international Borna Barisic.
It also takes time to settle in Glasgow and given Yilmaz is moving away from home for the first time there will surely be some kind of adjustment period as he swaps Turkey for Scotland.
However, local Turkish media – namely Takvim – are claiming that Galatasaray are closely monitoring Ridvan Yilmaz’s situation at Rangers with a view to a potential loan move.
Galatasaray linked to Rangers star Ridvan Yilmaz
Whilst the report acknowledges that any transfer is unlikely, the Turkish outlet believe that a lack of gametime at Rangers could see the Turkish talent farmed out at the turn of the year.
But given the amount Rangers paid out for Ridvan Yilmaz and the fact he’s just arrived at the club, the notion they’d send the player back to Turkey so prematurely seems fanciful to us.
So far Ridvan Yilmaz has seen gametime limited at Ibrox but the left-back came off the bench in the final stages of Rangers’ 4-0 weekend win over St Mirren and did manage to catch the eye.
It’s only the young star’s 4th appearance in a Rangers shirt and was his first in the Scottish Premiership since Yilmaz played against Kilmarnock at the beginning of August.
Signed to replace Calvin Bassey at Rangers following the Nigerian’s exit to Ajax, it looks like Rangers fans are going to have to be patient with Ridvan Yilmaz in the early part of his career.
But far from be looking to sell the kid after the World Cup break, if you ask us this is when Rangers and the club’s supporters should be looking to see more of him after Ridvan has had six months to settle in Scotland.
Meanwhile, Rangers have moved to sign up one Academy graduate for whom there are majorly high hopes at Ibrox.
