Real Madrid Raul takes Leeds Utd decision amid Steven Gerrard links

Real Madrid legend Raul has reportedly turned down the offer of the Leeds Utd job, as links to former Rangers boss Steven Gerrard are rubbished in the press.

The Elland Road club are on the hunt for a new manager after USA coach Jesse Marsch was sacked with the club 17th in the Premier League table having won only four league games this season.

It’s started a scramble regarding who might be tasked with replacing him as Leeds Utd look to salvage their Premier League status with the club level on points with Everton in the drop zone.

The Toffees stopped the rot with an impressive 1-0 win over Arsenal under new manager Sean Dyche and you’d be a brave man to best against a Goodison Park renaissance in the coming weeks.

Raul turns down Leeds Utd

It’s led to plenty of names being chucked into the ring at Leeds Utd, with legendary former Real Madrid striker Raul and ex-Liverpool captain and Rangers manager Steven Gerrard amongst the most interesting.

However, according to reports in Spain [AS], Raul has turned down the offer of the job at Leeds Utd and is fully committed to his role with Real Madrid’s B team Castilla.

It appears the legendary former Spain striker, 45, is also highly-thought of around Europe with the likes of former club Schalke 04 and Rangers’ Europa League Final foes Eintracht Frankfurt also linked.

Those Leeds Utd links to Steven Gerrard have also been rubbished in the press, with the former Rangers manager out of work after being sacked by Aston Villa at the turn of the year.

The Anfield legend might’ve won 55 and restored Rangers to former glories, but the ex-England captain is not said to be in the running for the Leeds Utd post.
