January Rangers signing Todd Cantwell has taken to social media to help clarify comments the midfielder made after leaving Norwich City.

The 24-year-old joined the Gers in the winter window by leaving his boyhood club after falling out of favour at Carrow Road.

Once the blue-eyed boy of the club’s Academy, Todd Cantwell was being rated at £50m during an impressive six-goal Premier League season in 19/20 and there were majorly high hopes about his future.

But over the last few seasons things have slowed down for Todd Cantwell and – amid multiple offers to move elsewhere – chose Rangers as his next destination following almost 15 years in Norfolk.

Todd Cantwell sends Norwich City message

However, Cantwell has taken to social media amid speculative conversations over comments the player made upon leaving the Canaries.

Whilst Todd Cantwell didn’t give too much away, the player did claim that the truth of his situation at Norwich City will come out in the future.

“Just a quick statement,” said Todd Cantwell on his official Instagram account.

“The leaving of my boyhood club may have seemed strange to some in terms of my words.

“The situation and the way I was treated will be revealed and my fans and fans of the club will know the truth.

”I’m so happy again and enjoying my football at the amazing Rangers.”

This comes after Todd Cantwell claimed he’d “lost a little bit of touch” at Norwich City and hinted towards issues at the club before moving to Rangers.

“The most important thing for me right now is to get back playing and enjoying my football,” said Todd Cantwell.

“I lost a little bit of touch with that and I think they sensed that is important to me.

“I think you get the best version of me by just enjoying myself. When I spoke to the manager, his incredible depth of detail in such a short opening conversation really really opened my eyes up to what it was I was potentially signing up to.”

Whatever the case, Norwich City’s loss looks to be Rangers’ gain as Todd Cantwell leaves an early impression.
