The latest Rangers transfer news suggests that Michael Beale has already lined up signings number six and seven in Jose Cifuentes and Cyriel Dessers – with three more to follow.

The Ibrox side have already been busy this window with three pre-contract signings announced in the shape of Kieran Dowell (Norwich City), Dujon Sterling (Chelsea) and Jack Butland (Crystal Palace).

These three follow on from January moves for Todd Cantwell (Norwich City) and Nicolas Raskin (Standard Liege) which had already begun to change the dynamic of the team.

The latest transfers news suggests that Michael Beale and Rangers are also set to close in on more complicated deals for Jose Cifuentes (LAFC) and Cyriel Dessers (Cremonese).

Rangers transfer news: two new signings immient

Ecuadorean international Cifuentes is about to enter the final six months of his current contract in the MLS, with reports of an imminent medical cooled by the player’s appearance in LAFC’s most recent match.

Despite this, there has been no suggestion a deal has collapsed and Rangers look firmly in the driving seat to make the World Cup star the club’s sixth signing under Michael Beale.

There is also Nigerian international Cyriel Dessers, with the latest reports suggesting Rangers are closing in on a £4.4m deal with Cremonese to bring the forward to Ibrox.

But it’s clear that Rangers are not set to stop there with the transfer news surrounding the club suggesting Michael Beale will target at least another three players before the window opens.

And three could follow them

The Ibrox manager confirmed the pursuit of a centre-back earlier in the year, with Auston Trusty (Arsenal) and Jonathan Panzo (Nottingham Forest) most closely linked.

It’s an area Rangers are expected to invest in and we could see that ramp up in the coming weeks.

There is also the left-wing position as the club look to replace the influence of Ryan Kent, with Luis Palma (Aris) and Morgan Whittaker (Swansea) the most prominently linked.

And finally, there is another striking berth in the side which many expect to be filled with Rangers extensively linked to the pre-contract signing of Josh Maja.

There are doubts over the reliability of both Antonio Colak and Kemar Roofe and more firepower is a must for a Rangers side who’ve been caught short the last few seasons.

To throw another wild-card into the mix, there is also the curious case of Malik Tillman, who could be an 11th permanent Michael Beale signing, should Rangers and Bayern Munich ever strike a deal.
