Blackpool manager Michael Appleton has broken his silence on the future of form striker Jerry Yates amid links to the likes of Rangers.
The Gers are one of a number of sides said to be tailing 26-year-old Yates, who has scored nine goals i 23 Championship appearances this season south of the border.

Rangers were linked to Jerry Yates in October with reports at the time even suggesting the Ibrox club had watched the Blackpool striker net a double against Preston North End.
Rangers weren’t the only ones said to be attendance however, with Premier League duo Bournemouth and Brentford also watching the £5m-rated forward.
It’s not the first time Rangers have been linked with Yates either, the striker also said to be an Ibrox target at the end of the 20/21 with the striker firing the Seasiders to Championship promotion.
Blackpool boss discusses future of Rangers-linked Yates
Blackpool boss Michael Appleton has been discussing the player’s future and the manager insists that there have been no conversations suggesting Jerry Yates will leave the club in January.
“It’s absolutely news to me,” said Appleton [Blackpool Gazette].
“I’ve not had one conversation regarding Jerry and going elsewhere with anybody, so I can’t give you anything on that one.
”As I say it’s absolutely news to me, I’ve not had one conversation on the matter.”
There’s more than a tinge of frustrations in the comments and it’ll be interesting to see what happens with Jerry Yates when the January transfer window opens.
As things stand Rangers are well-stocked in the striker position but with Alfredo Morelos out of contract in the summer and Kemar Roofe perennially injured, the club may be looking for reinforcements soon.
Meanwhile, major doubts now surround a potential Rangers move for another £5m-rated footballer.
