Rangers have, at times, struggled to create clear cut chances and a player like Alex Lowry might have been handy in recent weeks.
A loan to Hearts looks like being productive already after an impressive cameo on his debut and a game-winning performance in the league cup.
Last season was a write-off at Rangers for Alex Lowry but, a change in attitude and now fully fit, he is starting to look like the player we all know he can be with Steven Naismith his latest fan.
Speaking after his side’s 4-0 win over Partick Thistle, the Jambo’s technical director – to give him his official title – couldn’t speak highly enough of his young playmaker who was a clear man of the match:
“He’s not had enough game time for someone of his age, that’s why he’s in the position he’s in but I think today was totally different to a couple of performances he’s had in the past.

“It’s all learning with a big emphasis on him to do certain things and he carried it out very well which is great. He’s a big talent but he’s very young.”
Rangers exit already paying off for Alex Lowry
Last season was almost a write off at Rangers for Alex Lowry, a series of injuries and personal problems meant that his promotion to the senior squad stalled after an exciting breakthrough the season before.
The 20-year old is a passer in the same mould as Ianis Hagi, they don’t always come off, but when they do, they usually lead to good chances.
A calculated risk taker who plays with his head up and his eyes looking forwards.
With three – self proclaimed – assists against Partick Thistle, the on-loan Rangers magician is off and running in terms of numbers and he will be keen to add goals too.
As one of Scotland’s most technically gifted youngsters, few would bet against him continuing the sort of form that has seen him become a popular member of Hearts squad already amongst the Gorgie faithful.
