This time last year, Alex Lowry had burst into the Rangers first team and had sat on the bench in a major European final, he is now working harder than ever to rediscover his fitness.

The talented teenager made an instant impact last January when he scored on his debut after coming off the bench, impressive performances followed, and the future seemed bright.

This season though has been one to forget, but Alex Lowry is showing the attitude needed to be a success at Rangers with a busman’s holiday to Dubai.

Alex Lowry proves that he is determined to have Rangers future

Posting on his Instagram account, Lowry has shown himself grafting as he looks to put 2022/23 behind him and hit the ground running in pre-season.

The Scotland youth cap also posted a heart-felt message proving that he is ready to refocus:

“Very disappointing season for me personally, thank you everyone for the support!

‘We go again next year.”

There has never been any doubting Alex Lowry’s ability or potential, however, question marks about his conditioning last season, before suffering injuries, raised a few eyebrows at Rangers.

With Tom Lawrence not likely to be up to speed straight away, Scott Arfield moving on and Michael Beale playing with attacking midfielders and three forwards, there is space for Lowry to get game time.

He is an aggressive passer of the ball in that he always plays with his head up and facing forwards, can beat a player and is a composed finisher.

It may only have been the B team but he has also still managed a goal a game this season despite being woefully short of fitness.

Alex Lowry rejected reported interest from Newcastle United and Manchester City to stay at Rangers, lets hope next season is the one when he truly shows what he can do.
