Leading Rangers insiders Heart & Hand believe that the Ibrox side are interested in the double signings of both midfielder Jose Cifuentes and striker Cyriel Dessers.

Host of the Ibrox fan media outlet David Edgar was speaking to supporters as part of their Daily Update for Wednesday 7th June and believes that the club are pursuing both players.

This comes with swirling reports gathering around both Jose Cifuentes and Cyriel Dessers, whom were the subject of much discussion on the Heart & Hand platform.

“Another couple of players who may be arriving soon,” said David Edgar.

“First of all Jose Cifuentes, the LA midfielder, he has been strongly linked with Rangers and in this modern world of social media he has posted his goodbye to the LAFC fans.

“Rangers fans got stuck in and he liked a lot of the comments, so I don’t know if he’s being quite fly, but this is a player that Rangers are interested in and are looking at bringing across.

“He’s a player Rangers are very, very keen on bringing to the club and certainly on all indicators he’s keen to come here as well.

“Another player who’s been strongly linked over the last 48 hours or so if the Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers, and according to reports in Italian media Rangers are in negotiations over him.

“He will be available for a fee of around €6m (£5m) with Rangers negotiating to get it down which I think is understandable.

“It looks as though that is one that Rangers are pursuing. There is definitely something in it.”

Heart & Hand talk Cifuentes and Dessers

The claims from Heart & Hand come amid reports that Jose Cifuentes is set for a medical at Rangers with a view to moving to the club.

After the signing of Jack Butland was announced at Ibrox, the Ecuadorean does appear primed to be Rangers’ sixth signing of the Michael Beale era.

Any Rangers move for Cyriel Dessers doesn’t appear quite as advanced, with Rangers reportedly having a bid rejected for the Belgian-born Nigerian international.

Alongside Butland, Rangers have already announced the pre-contract signings of Kieran Dowell from Norwich City and Dujon Sterling from Chelsea.
