Beale blow as Rangers duo ruled out with return timeline revealed

Michael Beale has plenty of options in Rangers midfield and attack just now and has been given a boost at the other end with news about Ridvan Yilmaz and Ben Davies.

The left-sided duo missed the trip to Rugby Park with the young Turk, in particular, a big miss.

Almost nothing was created down Rangers left and the manager will be counting the days until both Ridvan Yilmaz and Ben Davies are fit, with their timescale to return revealed on the club’s official X site.

Borna Barisic was a major problem against Kilmarnock with almost nothing offered in the final third.

The Croatian didn’t even resort to his usual style of just throwing crosses in either which might have been handy with an attack featuring three players over 6ft tall.

Compared to what Ridvan offers, Barisic was almost an empty jersey.

Coincidently both Ridvan Yilmaz and Ben Davies have been linked with moves away from Rangers.

Ridvan back home to Turkey and Davies with a return to England.

Rangers return imminent for Ridvan Yilmaz and Ben Davies

Speaking as part of the build-up for the Champions League qualifier with Servette, Michael Beale revealed:

“Ridvan Yilmaz will be available for selection before the Morton game, all going well. Ben Davies should return to training early next week.”

Until Rangers have Ridvan back, Barisic will remain as first pick at left-back, Beale can’t even experiment with Davies there either.

If this is the case, the Gers boss needs to make sure that he is clear in how we are trying to play and that what he offered at the weekend is nowhere near good enough.

That Adam Devine instead, playing on his wrong side, would be welcomed by most fans tells you everything you need to know.

The future of Davies might be uncertain with interest reported but he still offers experience at the heart of the defence and looked good alongside Connor Goldson last season.

If John Souttar continues to play every game we could be putting the Scotland international at risk and need to manage his minutes.

Rangers need to be at full strength all over the park to progress to the Champions League group stages and having Ridvan Yilmaz and Ben Davies back will make a difference.

All we need now is the manager to sort out a game plan.
