After a poor weekend performance, Greg Docherty made amends on Tuesday night.
His adopted side, Shrewsbury Town, travelled to Stoke and pulled off a considerable FA Cup shock.

The visitors are only three points off the relegation zone in League One. Contrastingly, their hosts were a Premier League outfit, just last year.
Therefore, when the Potters took a 2-0 lead before half-time, it looked like the contest was all over bar the shouting.
Yet, against the odds, Shrewsbury came roaring back.

Three goals in ten minutes, the third of which the result of a pinpoint Docherty cross, handed the away side an unlikely victory.

“We went out fighting in the second half and we played with freedom…it was pretty special”, the loanee told Shrewsbury’s website.

“When the final whistle went, you could see the celebrations. As each goal went in, we knew straight away that we were going to win it.”
“It was pure elation.”
“We need to keep that belief and string a run of results together”, he concluded.

It was certainly a remarkable comeback win. Yet again, it reinforced the influence Docherty has on this Shrewsbury side.
When he plays well, the team play well.
It’s big pressure, but now that it’s confirmed he is staying at New Meadow until the end of the season, he needs to consistently produce strong performances, to ensure this side avoids the drop.
