When the clock passed the hour mark and the scoreline was still the same, their chances looked even slimmer still.
Yet, they managed to turn it around.

James Bolton’s thunderous strike from the edge of the area, gave the visitors some 71st minute hope.
Just six minutes later, a foul on Josh Laurent, by Sam Clucas, offered the chance to level the scores from the spot.
Fejiri Okenabirhie tucked away the penalty to set up a grand stand finish.

While Stoke were still reeling, up stepped Docherty to help deliver the killer blow.

In the 81st minute, the 22-year-old found space on the right flank, during a Shrews breakaway.
He produced a pinpoint low cross to the back post, which Laurent tapped home, sparking wild celebrations.

In the space of ten minutes, a League One outfit had overturned a two-goal deficit to defeat a team full of former Premier League players.
