The talented Tony Weston scored for Rangers U18s on Saturday afternoon in a tight encounter with Fife Elite [Rangers Youth Updates].
Weston started his career at English League One club Blackpool, turning out for the Seasiders in the FA Cup last season, aged just 16.

However, he moved on from Bloomfield Road in the summer and reportedly turned down Everton, Leeds United and Southampton [Scottish Sun] in favour of signing for Rangers for an undisclosed fee.
The striker penned a three-year contract, which is a lengthy deal by Academy standards, and vowed to work as “hard as possible” to make an impact at the club [Rangers.co.uk].
Fellow summer signing James Graham has been the most prolific forward at U18 level this season, but Weston netted for the first time in a 3-2 defeat to St Mirren in October and was on the scoresheet again on Saturday.
His strike wasn’t enough to secure a victory, with the game finishing 1-1, but getting back amongst the goals should boost his confidence.
The U18s have had a mixed start to their 2020/21 campaign under the new coaching dynamic of David McCallum and Cameron Campbell, tending to score a lot of goals but also to concede more than their fair share.
Yet, they did manage to sweep aside Old Firm rivals Celtic 3-0 in November, courtesy of goals from Graham, Nathan Young-Coombes and Tyler Pasnik.
On Friday, a graduate of the Rangers Academy spoke passionately about his desire to stay at the club.
