The fixtures are now coming thick and fast at age-group and B team level as the Young Gers look to shake off rustiness and get back to the levels they were performing at prior to lockdown.

The U18s have had a mixed start to the season, securing narrow wins against Kilmarnock and Partick Thistle, but also losing to the Jags at Lochinch.

On Friday, they were involved in their highest-scoring match to date, drawing 3-3 with fellow Glasgow club Queen’s Park at the Rangers Football Centre.

Once again, the game took place behind closed doors and there was no coverage provided via official channels, ensuring the exact make-up of the Gers U18 XI is unknown.

Rangers Youth Updates shared the result and the goalscorers at full-time, though, with Leyton Dunlop, Malcolm Ebiowei and Cole McKinnon all finding the net.

Meanwhile, it’s good to see Ebiowei get off the mark for the season. The former Arsenal wonderkid joined Rangers in February and only managed to make a few appearances before the global health crisis brought football to a halt at all levels.

Leyton Dunlop was part of a promising Gers U16 side last season and his goal in this game suggests he’s having no problem with the step up in age group.
