Rangers U18s secured a narrow victory over Partick Thistle on Tuesday night at the Rangers Football Centre [Rangers Youth Updates].
After months without any action due to the global health crisis, the club’s best young prospects have been back training at Auchenhowie for several weeks and the fixtures are beginning to follow.
The club has big plans for the B team this season and they hammered BSC Glasgow 5-1 over the weekend, with Dapo Mebude netting a hat-trick, while Northern Ireland youth international Chris McKee and fellow attacker Arron Lyall grabbed one apiece.
Lyall signed his first professional deal with the club earlier this summer and is enjoying a productive return to action in Light Blue.
The 16-year-old scored once again on Tuesday night in a narrow win for the U18s against the Jags.
Northern Ireland U17 international Ross McCausland was the other player on the scoresheet for the hosts, while Tyler Pasnik returned to the side after missing a lot of action last season due to injury.
Lyall took to Twitter after the game to celebrate the result and his contribution.
More minutes and another goal 💙🙌 https://t.co/tXfp5JMPPW

Given that the club have recruited multiple highly-rated forwards over the summer in Charlie Lindsay from Glentoran, Tony Weston from Blackpool and James Graham from Ross County, it may be difficult for homegrown attackers to see a pathway to the first-team.
Lyall has hit the ground running after the long break, though, and will be hoping for more opportunities to impress beyond the U18 side as the season progresses.
