Zalaegerszegi TE centre-back Akpe Victory is understood to be high up the wishlist for Rangers this summer.
With Nasser Djiga returning to Wolves, it is imperative for the Light Blues to rope in a replacement ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Rangers are said to be the favourites to sign Victory, but there are other clubs interested in the defender as well.
Which area should Rangers prioritise on strengthening this summer? 🤔
Andrew Cavenagh has made some bold promises!
ZTE reject bids from Basel for Akpe Victory
According to Ben Jacobs, Zalaegerszegi TE (ZTE) have turned down two offers from Basel for the 19-year-old.
There is said to be a major gap between how much the two sides value the Nigerian defender.
It has been claimed that the Hungarian side are holding out for a £4.3m fee for the teenager this summer.
Would you want Rangers to compete in the Europa League or the Conference League next season?
Money will be more in the Europa League, but the Conference League gives you a better chance of a European trophy…
Rangers have already made an approach for Victory, but are yet to table an official bid.
The same can be said about Benfica, who have made their interest known in the centre-back.
Along with these two clubs, there is significant interest from teams in Italy, Spain, Germany, as well as France.

How stylistically similar is Victory to Rangers defender Emmanuel Fernandez
Both Victory and Emmanuel Fernandez are towering centre-backs, standing at over 6ft 4in.
They are both good in the air and are also physical presences, making them useful for set pieces inside both boxes.
While Fernandez is decent with his feet, he prefers to stay back and hold the shape, while Victory is someone who likes carrying the ball into midfield.
They do seem like players who would complement each other, but it remains to be seen whether or not the Gers can afford his services.
The Light Blues have often overpaid for potential rather than proven quality and it has been to their own detriment in recent seasons.
