As Rangers continue their hunt for striker reinforcements, Spanish side Villarreal – reported transfer rivals in the chase for Haji Wright – appear set for a £30m Nicolas Jackson Chelsea boost.
Whilst Ibrox attentions are more firmly set on the likes of Cyriel Dessers, Tasos Douvikas and Josh Maja, fans will still have one eye on the situation surrounding USA international Haji Wright.

And with La Liga outfit Villarreal previously linked, news of the latest bumper Chelsea transfer will be of increasing interest to those of a Rangers persuasion.
This is because Todd Boehly’s bank-breaking Blues are reportedly set to dig even further into the American billionaire’s pockets to sign Villarreal striker Nicolas Jackson.
According to gathering reports, including those in the Evening Standard, the Premier League outfit are likely to spend £30m to bring 21-year-old Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson to London.
Nicolas Jackson to Chelsea, Haji Wright to Villarreal?
Why this is relevant to Rangers concerns those Ibrox links to Haji Wright, the USA international and Antalyaspor striker said to be the subject of a £7m Ibrox bid earlier in the season.
Whilst all of that remains unconfirmed as things stand, Villarreal have also been linked to the 25-year-old forward and any Chelsea interest in Jackson is a clear boost to their transfer hopes.
Haji Wright would cost a fraction of the £30m Chelsea will need to pay to sign Villarreal forward Nicolas Jackson, whilst the La Liga side will also have 13 goals which need replacing for next season.

The entire thing makes Villarreal’s reported interest in Haji Wright very interesting indeed with Rangers fans a little all over the place when it comes to the Ibrox club’s apparent striker interests.
Sam Lammers has already joined from Atalanta, but between Cyriel Dessers, Tasos Douvikas and Josh Maja, fans aren’t quite sure how many will be joining him.
If Villarreal do turn their post-Nicolas Jackson attentions on Haji Wright, then perhaps the Rangers support can begin to strike at least one name off the Ibrox side’s seemingly extensive striker shortlist.
