Thomas Galdames has been open about his hopes to move to Europe amid links to Rangers this summer.
The Chilean defender, 25, currently turns out for Argentine club Godoy Cruz but for all intents and purposes a move across the Atlantic beckons this summer.
That’s according to the centre-back turned left-back himself, Galdames confirming that a move to Europe beckoned this transfer window.
Rangers have strongly linked with a move for Galdames but they are believed to face fierce competition from Belgium in the player.
Now, Thomas Galdames have been pictured back in the old continent as the defender reportedly closes in on a move this summer.

Galdames spotted in Europe
Thomas Galdames is one of a number of players from Latin America reportedly interesting Rangers this summer.
Whilst a deal for calamitous Panama defender Jose Cordoba fell apart, Rangers did make a move for Brazilian left-back Jefte.
Colombian winger Oscar Cortes has also extended his stay in Glasgow whilst there continues to be a conversation around Peñarol midfielder Damian Garcia.
But after Chile were eliminated from the Copa America, the next chapter of the Thomas Galdames story is expected to start in the coming weeks.
With Belgian side Royal Antwerp now said to be leading the Galdames hunt, the defender has been snapped on European soil.
In pictures uploaded to Instagram, the Chileno defender has been spotted in Italy with his partner enjoying some post Copa America downtime.
Rangers on left-sided defender transfer hunt?
Whilst the snaps give no clue as to the future of Thomas Galdames, the latest comments from Philippe Clement suggest a left-sided defender may still be on the Ibrox club’s summer shopping list.
The Rangers manager has been speaking to the Rangers Review about the Gers’ transfer business this summer.
With the Ibrox side already securing a deal for left-sided centre-back Clinton Nsiala, the Belgian is clear the ex-AC Milan talent is not viewed as an immediate starter.
Galdames has previously claimed that centre-back is his ‘most comfortable’ position despite also being available to play at left-back.
“We have some players who have come in who are longer term, like Clinton Nsiala,” said Clement.
“He has a lot of talent, but he needs the experience and he needs to learn a lot of things. I don’t expect him to be a starting player.”
With the future of Ben Davies the subject of much debate, those Rangers links to Thomas Galdames are certainly ones to watch this summer.
