Rangers-linked Utrecht striker Tasos Douvikas will share the Eredivisie Top Goalscorer award with PSV Eindhoven midfielder and one-time reported Ibrox target Xavi Simons.
This comes after a hectic final day of the season in the Netherlands, as familiar Champions League foes PSV earned a spot in the qualifiers for European football’s elite competition once again.
PSV defeated AZ Alkmaar 2-1 courtesy of a Xavi Simons double either side of a Jesper Karlsson penalty, with the second goal coming in the 98th minute after Anwar El Ghazi had seen red for Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side.
Across the country, Utrecht were in the middle of an exciting contest themselves, with Rangers-linked Tasos Douvikas netting again in a 3-2 victory over FC Emmen.
Utrecht went ahead three times in the match, eventually winning through a Nick Viergever goal despite the side’s centre-back Mike van der Hoorn being sent off with the score at 2-2.
This would be the 19th strike of the season for Douvikas, who is said to be rated around £6m amid those links to Rangers.
Xavi Simons – who himself was said to be a target for Rangers heading into last summer – would also net his 18th and 19th Eredivisie goals of the season to match the Greek striker.

Ex-Barcelona and PSG talent Simons also added eight assists against Douvikas’s four but, while in many other divisions this would have seen Xavi take the crown, it’s apparently being shared in the Netherlands.
That is according to Football Oranje, who claim that both players will share the award after they hit 19 for the season, with Rangers fan excitement over Douvikas building.
Ibrox manager Michael Beale has previously hinted the club will spend in the striker position this summer, with the 23-year-old Greek international striker certainly an interesting option.
The form of Simons, who was reportedly a pre-contract target for Rangers last season as his contract ticked down at PSG, also isn’t going unnoticed.
The likes of Premier League runners-up Arsenal have been linked with a £20m move.
