As Rangers reportedly close in on a move for Brighton’s Senegalese international attacker Abdallah Sima, the transfer will surely end any lingering suggestion of a deal for Luis Palma.
The Ibrox side are reportedly set to complete a loan move for the 22-year-old forward, who has experienced something of a lull in his career after a £7m switch to the Premier League club in 2021.

Injury disrupted an initial loan switch to Stoke City, whilst lingering fitness issues held Abdallah Sima back in another short-term stint last season, this time on loan at eventually relegated Angers in France.
Now, reports are suggesting that Rangers look set to secure a season-long loan deal for the former Slavia Prague attacker, who stole the show in that infamous Europa League clash in the February before that move to Brighton.
It is an interesting move for all parties, and let’s hope Rangers see glimpses of the player the controversial Czech outfit lost, but the prospective deal will surely send a ripple through the Ibrox club’s transfer plans.
Abdallah Sima links surely ends Rangers Luis Palma hunt
Namely, if there was any smouldering hope of a deal being resurrected for Aris winger Luis Palma, the Honduras international extensively linked in the summer, then it has almost certainly been extinguished now.
Abdallah Sima can play across the attack but the forward is someone who largely plays off the left-hand side and may well be set to replace the influence of Ryan Kent in that part of the attack.
The former Liverpool talent is now at Fenerbahce and as Rangers eyed up a replacement, Luis Palma was one name doing the rounds.

However, as the post-season weeks progressed it became clear a deal for the Greek Super League star wasn’t going to work and now it appears Rangers’ interest is evaporating.
With the links to Abdallah Sima, any suggestion Rangers will now move for Luis Palma have gone up in smoke with the Ibrox side already set to fill out the left-hand side of their attack heading into the new season.
