Rangers were keen on William Pacho last summer and the Eintracht Frankfurt ace is a £50 million target for Premier League giants Liverpool and Arsenal 12 months on.
When it comes to signing up-and-coming talents – turning rough diamonds into gleaming gems – then there are few better than the side who broke Rangers hearts in the 2022 Europa League final.
And after just 24 Bundesliga starts, William Pacho could soon become the latest player to earn Frankfurt a considerable cash windfall, following in the footsteps of Randal Kolo Muani, Andre Silva, Luka Jovic, Jesper Lindstrom and Sebastian Haller.
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claims that Pacho – who was scouted by Rangers when he was still valued at £8 million – has seen his market value soar six-fold since swapping Royal Antwerp for the Commerzbank Arena.

Rangers looked at William Pacho before Bundesliga switch
“The 22-year-old central defender from Eintracht Frankfurt is on the shortlist of Arsenal and Liverpool,” Plettenberg writes on X.
“Eintracht bosses (are) informed about it. Eintracht (will) demand around 60 million euros in summer. Top player and one to watch for the summer transfer window.”
Pacho, who has also been linked with Spanish giants Real Madrid, appears likely to be bringing his aerial prowess and composed passing to one of Europe’s biggest arenas in the coming months. Left-sided centre-halves have never been more popular. And Frankfurt, fully aware both of Pacho’s potential and his value, seem determined to extract maximum profit out of a player who – according to Belgian publication Het Nieuwsblad – impressed the Rangers scouts following their visit to Antwerp.
Liverpool and Arsenal keen
Pacho, then, could be about to join an already star-studded collection of players who’s reputation and price-tag has risen considerably since a few Glaswegian glances in their direction.
Who knows, if there is something in that whole multi-verse thing, maybe there is a Rangers side out there lining up with a central defensive partnership of William Pacho and Jarrad Branthwaite.
