Spurs setting up for ginormous fail by reportedly targeting key Rangers man

Spurs setting up for fail with Rangers reportedly “fearing” Ibrox move

Figures at Rangers are reportedly “fearing” that Premier League side Spurs will make a move for Steven Gerrard.

That’s according to Give Me Sport, who become the umpteenth publication to mention Gerrard next to another job down south despite the Gers gaffer’s reiteration he wants to stay at Ibrox.

The report claims that amid Tottenham Hotspur’s continuing issues recruiting a new manager they could turn to the Anfield legend as a solution.

Give Me Sport are adamant that whilst it isn’t “panic stations” at Tottenham yet there is “a feeling” that Gerrard could be their next target.

It’s not the first time the Ibrox gaffer has been mentioned alongside the role with 90min.com claiming he was on a Spurs shortlist to replace Jose Mourinho in March.

The Ibrox gaffer was then named alongside Julian Nagelsmann who’s now joined Bayern, Massimiliano Allegri, Michael Carrick, and Diego Simeone as potential solutions for Spurs a month later in the Telegraph.

Have Spurs been listening as they pain to learn managerial lesson?

Surely given the club’s continuing breakdown in talks with their key managerial targets, they’d have learned their lesson before piling in on Stevie G?

Paulo Fonseca and ex-Rangers star Gennaro Gattuso are the last two names who’ve been mentioned alongside the job with talks or reports breaking down before long.

Gerrard’s insistence that he has unfinished business at Rangers – the Ibrox gaffer proclaimed “let’s go for more” after the unbeaten season and securing 55 – then for me, it just sets Spurs up for a fail.

It’s not money that motivates Gerrard and the Ibrox gaffer still has a few more levels to take Rangers yet before he rolls out the Ibrox door a club legend.

Gerrard even took to Instagram recently to share a video that sums up this legendary season and what it means to everyone at the club.
