Yorkshire Live reports that Sheffield United are willing to listen to offers for Rangers linked John Lundstram, whose contract expires in the summer.

The Gers were consistently linked with the midfielder during the last transfer window and the Scottish Sun reported in September that they could look to snap him up on a pre-contract contract in January.

The Blades have since tried to tie him to a new deal but negotiations broke down in October, with manager Chris Wilder suggesting that the player was keen to run down his existing deal [Sky Sports].

Lundstram’s power and excellent work rate have served him well as he’s worked his way up through the divisions, but he’s also a player capable of real quality in and around the area, as his eight direct goal contributions during the 2019/20 campaign suggest.

United are currently suffering from second season syndrome and Lundstram’s goals have dried up, but he’s still receiving regular game time at a high level as the January window approaches, featuring in all but one of their 12 league fixtures to date.

Wilder insists that no offers have landed as yet, but Yorkshire Live reports that the English top-flight club will listen if and when they do.

Rangers are currently well-stocked in midfield but with Steven Davis turning 36 next month and Bongani Zungu only currently on loan from Amiens, a pre-contract deal could be something the club looks to pursue.

Lundstram isn’t the only midfielder the Gers have been linked with, though, with a Norwich City star also reportedly on their radar.
