Rangers linked Norwich City star Kenny McLean emphatically proved his fitness ahead of the January transfer window by playing the full 90 minutes of a 2-1 Championship win over Reading on Wednesday night.
Last month, the Scottish Sun reported that the Gers were eyeing up a move for McLean, with a loan or a permanent deal both under consideration.

The alleged transfer plans looked to have been dealt a fatal blow just days later when the Scotland international picked up what appeared to be a serious knee injury.

However, rest and rehab did the trick for the 28-year-old, who recovered remarkably quickly, making his initial comeback as a late substitute in a win over Nottingham Forest at Carrow Road on 9 December.
He made a second substitute appearance in Saturday’s victory over Blackburn before completing his return with a full 90-minute outing against Reading.

The Canaries triumphed 2-1 at the Madejski Stadium with goals from Emi Buendia and Teemu Pukki taking them back to the top of the Championship.
The midfielder was strutting his stuff at the same time that Rangers were falling to a shock League Cup defeat to St Mirren and the loss may have convinced the manager that he needs to act in next month’s window.
McLean is contracted to Norwich until 2023 but he grew up a Gers fan, so he could fancy a move to Ibrox to work under Gerrard.
The Rangers boss took the blame for the defeat in Paisley, with an unnecessary risk in his team selection appearing to cost his side dearly.
