And the Belgian has green-lit the decision as the second Gers player to leave for the second tier this week. There should also be more Rangers exits allowed this window.
Cole McKinnon has this evening moved to Somerset Park with the Honest Men to become their first signing of the window.
Ayr currently sit second in the division which should allow McKinnon the opportunity to play in a competitive league at the top end.
Speaking to the Ayrshire Post, McKinnon told of his excitement to be getting out on loan in a bid to land more minutes on the pitch.
Cole McKinnon has joined Ayr United on loan
“I’d like to think I carry myself well so it wouldn’t matter to me whether I was out of contract in the summer or not,” the 21-year-old said.
“I will always approach everything the same but it probably does add that little bit more pressure to come here and perform.
“I will do as well for the club as I can and take things from there.
“Coming here is a great opportunity and getting the chance to work under the manager and Whitts (Steven Whittaker) can only help develop my career.”
McKinnon joins another young Rangers player in leaving for the Championship
McKinnon joins another graduate from the young squad in leaving Ibrox for the Championship.

Fraser has featured for the first-team in Glasgow four times including as a cameo in Gers’ comprehensive 3-0 mauling of Celtic back on January 2.
