Danny Rohl is bracing himself for a number of Rangers players to leave Ibrox at the end of the season.

James Tavernier already announced he’s leaving, but there are other Light Blues players who will also part ways with the club.

There could be 11 Rangers players who leave in the coming months, as Rohl is planning a clearout to build the team in his image.

Schalke amplify pursuit of Bailey Rice

According to the Daily Mail, Schalke have already made an offer to secure the services of Bailey Rice.

The 19-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, and he can leave Rangers on a free transfer.

Rice has not been given a chance to impress Rohl, as he has been out with an injury since the German’s arrival.

There remains a high possibility that he never plays a game for the Gers boss, as he’s expected to leave Ibrox this summer.

Along with Schalke, Nottingham Forest are also hot on the heels of the Scottish midfielder.

Aston Villa, Sunderland and West Brom have also been credited with an interest in the 19-year-old.

Barry Ferguson has made a plea to Rangers regarding Rice

Barry Ferguson revealed that he spoke to Rice recently as the midfielder continues his recovery from injury.

The former Rangers manager believes that the 19-year-old has everything one would want in a midfielder.

That’s why he wants the Ibrox outfit to tie him down to a new contract and hopes that he snubs interest from elsewhere.

However, Ferguson admitted that he does not know what is on Rice’s mind, but he hopes that he stays put in Glasgow.

He told Go Radio: “I spoke to him about four or five weeks ago. He’s been plagued with injuries this season, which hasn’t been ideal for him. I know he’s out of contract in the summer. He’s a very good player. Left-footed. He’s got everything you would want in a midfielder.

“But I just don’t know what he’s thinking. If I’m Rangers, I would try and get him signed up on another contract because I do think he’s got the ability and the quality to play at Rangers.”
