Tom Miller moots Saudi Arabia transfer for James Tavernier
BBC pundit Tom Miller has discussed a probable move to Saudi Arabia for Tavernier.
Clubs in Saudi have the ability to spend big money on players, but will not need to in terms of transfer fees.
That is because the 34-year-old will become a free agent at the end of June as his contract at the Ibrox outfit is set to expire.
He is currently earning a little more than £30k/week at Rangers, something that could easily be increased by one of the clubs in the Saudi Pro League.
James Tavernier is set to leave Rangers…
Will Rangers regret not retaining his services? Tell us why!
Tottenham and Wolves are also interested in signing Tavernier, should he decide to stay in the United Kingdom.
However, Spurs will only sign the English defender if they get relegated to the Championship.
Miller was discussing Tavernier’s next club with Barry Ferguson on Five Star’s VIP.
Ferguson said: “I’m sure he’ll have another few years left in him, and wherever he goes, he’ll do a right good job.”
To which Miller replied: “Yeah, probably a Swiss bank account from Saudi Arabia and he deserves it.”

Will Rangers consider making a move for Nathan Patterson to replace Tavernier?
Nathan Patterson has been earmarked as a potential replacement for Tavernier and would qualify as a homegrown player.
He has not been getting game time at Everton, and the Premier League club would be open to cutting their losses with him.
Will Rangers sack Danny Rohl if they fail to win the league?
If he goes, who would be a good replacement for him?
The Gers hierarchy certainly will consider signing the Scotland international and he is also well-liked by the fans.
Patterson would offer Danny Rohl the attacking output that he wants from his full-backs, but there are doubts over his reliability in terms of his fitness.
The 24-year-old has faced injury issues on Merseyside, which could be a potential stumbling block for him.
