Rangers transfer strategy is one that will need time before any true assessment can be made with Nils Koppen and Philippe Clement, at least, seeming to be on the same page.
The manager has turned to the academy recently and dumped senior players who have consistently let him down in the past.
Clement is still looking to strengthen his squad but January is never an easy month to recruit, even if the textbook example of how Rangers should operate arrived in this transfer window.

Gold standard Rangers example Glen Kamara could be on the move
Six-years ago, Steven Gerrard was into his second window as Rangers manager and looked to fill holes and add quality.
Arriving at Ibrox as the deadline neared was Glen Kamara, for little more than Cyriel Dessers’ weekly wage – £50,000 to be precise.
At the time, it seemed like a bargain, with hindsight, it was one of Rangers’ best ever transfer deals given that the Finland international went on to make Rangers £5.5m when he moved to Leeds United in the summer of 2023.
After moving to Rennes last summer, the 29-year old could be set to move again with Al Shabab looking to take him to Saudi Arabia, according to Fabrizio Romano.
In a dramatic twist, Jorge Sampaoli, has been sacked as Rennes manager which could see a change of fortunes for Kamara.
Steven Gerrard facing uncertain future after Saudi adventure ends
One former Rangers figure who is also on the move is the afore mentioned Gerrard, according to The Athletic is set to end his time in Saudi Arabia.
The former Gers boss only signed a contract extension last year and was joined by Michael Beale in November, however, they are all set to leave with an uncertain future ahead.
For Gerrard, his last two managerial jobs haven’t gone well at all. Al Ettifaq aren’t backed by the Public Investment Fund that has provided the money for players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Neymar, but he has still underperformed.
For Beale, his stock has fallen even further since leaving Rangers with an imbalanced squad and both will need to assess their next move carefully.
Gerrard will always be in demand by the various TV companies, however, after tasting success at Rangers, he will want to prove that it wasn’t a fluke.
