Renowned journalist and author Michael McEwan has mooted a potential move for Blackburn right-back Ryan Alebiosu.
McEwan assumes that Tavernier will be leaving at the end of the season, making it important for Rangers to sign a replacement.
Alebiosu is doing well at a struggling Blackburn side, and he could look for an exit should his side get relegated at the end of the season.

Despite having two years left on his deal at Ewood Park, the 24-year-old will be available for a cut-price deal if that happens.
He is also Emmanuel Fernandez’s international teammate with Nigeria, so that could smooth things regarding a potential move to Ibrox.
McEwan wrote on X: “Assuming James Tavernier moves on at the end of the season, Rangers could do worse than Ryan Alebiosu.
“Former Killie and St Mirren loanee who is having a great season in a poor Blackburn team.
“Two years left on his deal after this season but if Blackburn get relegated, could be available for a cut-price fee.
“Fabulous athlete and international teammate of Manny Fernandez.”
Why Alebiosu is an ideal Tavernier replacement
The 24-year-old has the pace and stamina that Rohl likes in a full-back and he is also ten years younger than Tavernier.
He has already spent time at Kilmarnock and St Mirren, so he understands the nature of the Scottish Premiership well.
If Rangers can secure a quality replacement for Tavernier for a bargain fee, they certainly will look to explore the deal.
Knowing Fernandez most certainly helps and the duo’s understanding could help the Gers become more solid defensively.
Everything is pointing towards him being the ideal replacement for the Englishman, and it remains to be seen how highly Rohl rates him.
