As Rangers fans refresh their screens awaiting transfer updates, one former Ibrox director in Ross Wilson could hold the keys to their happiness.
Whilst the debate about who Rangers should or shouldn’t sign this summer will continue to rage in the background of the club, there are several names linked as things stand.
We make it eleven players linked so far but two of them are currently contracted to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Ross Wilson left Rangers for the City Ground back in April last year and is now a key figure in the Premier League side’s transfers.
Rangers linked to Nottingham Forest pair
That means that when it comes Forest duo Scott McKenna and Emmanuel Dennis, the former Rangers Sporting Director could hold the transfer keys.
Scott McKenna was linked with a move to Ibrox alongside Old Firm rivals Celtic last week.
The Scotland international centre-back, 27, is out of contract at the end of the season and out of sorts at the City Ground.
A loan with a contract option seems like a constructive move – even if the defender is a Celtic supporter – and we’ll see how this progresses.
Rangers have also been linked with Emmanuel Dennis, who is currently on loan at Turkish side Çaykur Rizespor.
After a difficult first half of the season in Turkey, it looks like the forward could be about to return to Nottingham Forest in the window.
Whilst reports in Belgium have suggested a deal is some way down the line, others have suggested it’s still some way from completion.
Having worked with Philippe Clement at Club Brugge, it’s a link to watch with Dennis the second Nottingham Forest player linked to Rangers.

Ross Wilson could have final transfer say
Rangers will have a solid relationship with Ross Wilson even if the Nottingham Forest director moved on in acrimonious circumstances.
With fan protests over the ex-Falkirk and Southampton recruitment man’s transfer record, Wilson jumped ship back to the Premier League.
Rangers have since shaken up the recruitment set-up in the background of Ibrox with Nils Koppen now the club’s Director of Recruitment on the Ibrox side’s newly established recruitment board.
And now the former PSV scout could be tasked with working with the man he replaced in Glasgow to get two deals over the line for Rangers.
Whilst Ross Wilson is now obviously an employee of Nottingham Forest, we suspect his links to Rangers will surely make any negotiation a little bit smoother.
