Rangers would scoff at proposed Malik Tillman fee amid Bayern deal claim

Michael Beale has confirmed Rangers are in talks over a deal with Bayern Munich star Malik Tillman – but the reported £5m fee would be scoffed out of Ibrox with roles reversed.

Under-fire Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson was lauded in the summer when he secured a deal for the USA international Malik Tillman, with the transfer guru also inserting an exclusive option-to-buy clause.

As what has ultimately been a frustrating season for Rangers retains an air of disappointment, Malik Tillman has been the brightest spark around a dull Ibrox and fans want the Bayern deal concluded.

And as Rangers reportedly gear up for a summer of investment, if the club fails to land the 20-year-old it will be seen as a major failure, especially given the £5m fee attached.

In today’s money that is a genuine bargain and if Rangers are serious in the transfer market then there is no excuse for stumping up this kind of fee, especially given Michael Beale claims there is cash to spend.

Rangers Bayern reports makes Malik Tillman move a no-brainer

If Malik Tillman continues to impress for Rangers over the next few months and then into a full-time contract, the club could rake in serious money for one of the Bundesliga’s top talents.

If Tillman was already a Rangers player – and given his form this season – if any club came along offering £5m they’d be laughed out of Ibrox and quite rightly so.

Netting another two goals in the club’s 2-0 victory over Dundee Utd, bringing his return twelve goals and five assists for the season, Tillman is a game changer and a match winner.

To put that into perspective, these are the sorts of numbers we’ve expected from Ryan Kent and Joe Aribo over the years but which both players have consistently failed to deliver.

Still young and with plenty of room to grow, the sounds are that Malik Tillman wants to stay at Rangers and that the Ibrox club are in negotiations to buy the midfielder.

Given the reported prices involved, Rangers would be insane not to get this deal done.
