Rangers are seriously considering a move for FK Partizan midfielder Vanja Dragojevic, with Derek McInnes sanctioning a squad overhaul.

Five first-team defenders have already left Ibrox this summer, who need to be replaced, but the club want to strengthen other areas of the pitch as well.

Thus far, Dan Neil has been the only midfield addition, and Dragojevic could be the second one.

What are your expectations for Dan Neil at Rangers next season?

Vanja Dragojevic has £12.8m release clause at FK Partizan

The 20-year-old midfielder has a £12.8m release clause at the Serbian club, with an exit looking likely, according to Mozzart Sport.

Rangers have already tabled a bid for Dragojevic, but it is not close to what Partizan are looking for.

The offer is understood to be worth £3.8m and is expected to be rejected, but they do expect the deal to be completed within a few days.

While the Serbian club do not expect any club to get close to what his release clause is, they want more than what is on the table.

Will Dragojevic be a regular starter for Rangers?

The Gers have a number of midfield options, but it remains to be seen how many end up staying at the club.

They already have Nicolas Raskin facing an uncertain future, and there is a very good chance that he will leave following the World Cup.

Dragojevic appears to be someone who’s doing very well for his age, as he is the club captain at 20.

That means he would bring leadership to the dressing room, something McInnes and Andrew Cavenagh appear to want in the squad.

How will you remember Jack Butland for his time as the Rangers number one?

However, he would need a few weeks or maybe even a couple of months to fully adapt to life in Scotland.

It seems unlikely that he will become a first-team regular right away.

That means that if Raskin is set to leave, Rangers need to sign someone who’s capable of strengthening the playing eleven.
