Rangers star Glen Kamara is considering his future at Ibrox amid Southampton and Sheffield United studying a transfer. The Finn also has a number of European suitors.
That is according to TEAMtalk, which reports that Kamara is at the centre of a six-way battle ahead of the transfer window officially opening. Its report also follows Rangers boss Michael Beale admitting that ‘everything is open’ around the 27-year-old’s future and he could leave.
Kamara has been at Ibrox since January 2019 when Rangers and Dundee FC agreed a £50k transfer. He has since amassed 193 appearances for the Gers and often been a crucial cog. But the 50-cap international only started in 18 of his 35 appearances in the 2022/23 season.

Kamara is now exploring his options away from Rangers
His chances to feature became even further scarce toward the end of the campaign, as well. Beale opted to leave Kamara on the bench for five of Rangers’ seven fixtures before the top-six split. He then only started the former Arsenal talent in one of their five post-split fixtures.
So, Kamara, who Steven Gerrard once called ‘phenomenal’, is now studying his options for a transfer away from Rangers. The Finland anchor and the Gers will continue to reflect on his future in the coming weeks, as well. While his potential suitors line up their possible offers.

Southampton and Sheffield United are interested in Kamara
Southampton and Sheffield United are among the six teams likely set to battle for Kamara’s transfer from Rangers. The Saints are examining his potential availability as the south coast side prepare to revamp their ranks having now endured relegation into the Championship.
Sheffield United, on the other hand, feel Kamara has something to offer at Bramall Lane as they prepare to return to the Premier League. But the Blades and Southampton could also have to contend with interest from France and Italy with European suitors lurking for a deal.
Stade Rennais and OGC Nice have both already shown an interest in Kamara’s transfer from Rangers. But Frosinone and Genoa would also like to make a swoop to improve their squads after securing promotion into Serie A. So, Rangers may have plenty of suitors for his transfer.
