Wolves defender Nasser Djiga has impressed during his loan spell at Rangers this season under Danny Rohl.

The 23-year-old may not have begun his time at Ibrox as a regular starter, but he has improved a lot in the second half of the season.

His performances have seen Rohl benching John Souttar for him, and Djiga has formed an impressive partnership with Emmanuel Fernandez.

According to TEAMtalk, despite signing him for £10m over a year ago, Wolves are willing to sell Djiga at a discounted price of £5m in the summer.

Sources claim that the defender himself fancies a permanent move to Ibrox rather than spending a year in the Championship.

The Molineux outfit are also willing to cash in on him as they want to rebuild a new squad under the new owners.

Danny Rohl loves Djiga and is keen on bringing him back for the 2026/27 campaign.

However, the Ibrox outfit are not the only club keen on signing the centre-back in the coming months.

There are teams in Germany, the Netherlands and France also keeping tabs on Djiga and will have been alerted to his availability.

How Djiga has been earmarked to reach the top

Wolves had their tabs on Djiga since 2022, when he was on loan at Nimes.

They then continued following his development at Red Star Belgrade, before deciding to shell out big money on him.

He was signed by the English club as he liked defending on the front foot, but he also possesses the speed to cover up in case there are any gaps left behind.

While there are still some issues with his consistency, he is still only 23, and will only get better with time.

Russell Martin was the manager when Djiga joined, and even he praised the defender, admitting that he had the tools to succeed at Ibrox.

He said: “We believe he has all the attributes required to thrive here at Rangers in the upcoming campaign and I am looking forward to working with him.”

It remains to be seen whether or not he becomes a permanent Gers player this summer.
