Rangers are considering whether or not to sign Nasser Djiga from Wolves permanently in the summer transfer window.

Djiga joined Rangers on a season-long loan at the start of the season, and after a shaky start, has now established himself as a first-team regular.

The 23-year-old has kept John Souttar out of the starting eleven and has established a solid connection with Emmanuel Fernandez.

Nasser Djiga may not be a financially viable option for Rangers

According to the Daily Record, it still remains to be seen if Djiga will be financially viable for the Ibrox outfit this summer.

Danny Rohl would love to sign the centre-back as he has improved under his stewardship to become a key first-team player.

However, after just one season, Wolves would not be in the mood to make a loss on him, especially after he played well in the Scottish Premiership.

A few years ago, he joined Red Star Belgrade for a £4m fee and being impressed with his performances there, Wolves took a punt on him and signed him for £10m.

It remains to be seen if they want to re-integrate him into the first team or would rather part ways with him post relegation.

Djiga would be one of the better defenders in the Championship, and if the Molineux outfit cannot retain their key players, they may look to have the Burkina Faso international for one season.

How Rohl has managed to get the best out of Djiga

Rohl has managed to utilise Djiga’s pace in deploying a high line and that has seen Rangers successfully pressing higher up the pitch.

He also seems to have good chemistry with Fernandez, something which the German would have seen on the training pitch.

The Gers boss has also publicly praised Djiga for his efforts and that has given the centre-back a psychological boost.

Djiga himself has put in the hard yards and offered what was needed in order to replace Souttar.

Fans would love to see him back, but they know that they cannot overpay for his services, so there is a possibility this could be his final season at Ibrox.
