Rangers will need to address the midfield at some point in the near future as well as the home-grown problem which makes you wonder why Philippe Clement hasn’t moved for Connor Barron.
The 21-year old is out of contract in the summer and seems like the perfect signing for the Gers boss to refresh his squad and bring down the age profile.
However, speaking on Clyde Superscoreboard, Kenny Miller reckons that Rangers should avoid Connor Barron and explains why.

Rangers missing an obvious trick as Miller doubts Connor Barron
With Ryan Jack not knowing from day-to-day whether or not he is going to be fit, there should be no consideration now of another contract being offered.
There is simply no point, in a 60 game season, to sign someone who is only capable of being fit for 20.
In Connor Barron, Rangers have the perfect like-for-like replacement and a player who could be relied upon to contribute, although Miller doesn’t agree:
“I like what I’ve seen of him, but to move to Rangers when you aren’t getting a game for Aberdeen… is he going to improve Rangers at this moment in time?
“He’s never been a regular in that Aberdeen midfield as one of their big performers.
“To get a move from Aberdeen to Rangers, you need to be Aberdeen’s best player. That’s it. And let’s be honest, he’s not Aberdeen’s best player.”
I don’t think it is as simple as Miller makes out.
Players who are refusing to sign new contracts are frequently overlooked for those who are “committed”.
In terms of quality, if you know any, ask Aberdeen fans who they would rather have in their midfield and you can almost guarantee that they will say Barron deserves to be in the starting XI.
Also, a man of the match display in a 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt suggests that he has more than enough ability to be a success at Ibrox.
He started four games in Aberdeen’s Europa Conference League campaign and lost just once.
Domestically, he has only started seven games but again, has only lost twice with the team posting good results against Hibs and Hearts when he has anchored the midfield.
Rangers have had a quiet transfer window but, in the case of Connor Barron, there is an easy decision to make even if Kenny Miller doesn’t agree.
