Rangers are set for an imminent boost to the club’s transfer coffers as Aberdeen prepare to sell Ross McCrorie to Bristol City.
The Gers could also get around £100k more than initially expected, with the likes of the Daily Record reporting the fee could eventually reach £3m.

Earlier reports had claimed that Bristol City were set to pay £2m for Ross McCrorie, with Rangers expected to bank 10% of the fee.
While £200k is not to be sniffed at, Rangers will be encouraged about the prospect of up to £300k landing in their bank courtesy of the Dons.
According to the report, a deal for the 25-year-old is set to be confirmed this week, with the Pittodrie club themselves inserting an add-on into the arrangement with the Championship side.
It’s solid negotiating from an Aberdeen point of view and, thanks to their transfer resistance, the Gers are set for a welcome boost to the club’s transfer budget.
Ex-Rangers star Ross McCrorie set for Bristol City
Ross McCrorie came through at Rangers as a youngster and could now be set for a break in England courtesy of Bristol City.
The Gers initially loaned McCrorie to Aberdeen at the beginning of the 20/21 season before the deal was permanent six months earlier than planned in the January.
This was after Rangers had negotiated a pre-contract deal for winger Scott Wright, who himself could now be set to leave Ibrox for the Championship.
The Bristol City transfer news also comes as McCrorie earns a call-up to the Scotland national team, in a testament to the player’s progress in the north east.
The uncapped defensive midfielder is in the squad for the upcoming European Championship matches with Norway and Georgia.
McCrorie made his Rangers debut in 2017, making 55 appearances and scoring two goals.
