Rangers could be about to receive an early summer cash windfall as Aberdeen reportedly prepare to sell Ross McCrorie to English Championship side Bristol City.
According to Bristol Live, the 25-year-old defensive midfielder is preparing a switch to Ashton Gate which will see his two-year stint at Pittodrie come to an end.
The report mentions comments from Robins boss Nigel Pearson, who had claimed that two signings are close to being confirmed ahead of the summer window.
It is now being claimed that those two players are Fulham midfielder Joe Bryan, who will join on a free, and Aberdeen star Ross McCrorie, who will command a fee.
According to the Press & Journal, this will be around £2m, with earlier reports claiming Rangers are set to bank around 10%, or £200k, due to a sell-on fee negotiated when they sold the midfielder to Aberdeen in January 2021.
It’s certainly not to be sniffed at heading into a busy window for Rangers, with substantial investment expected as the club looks to wrestle back the Premiership trophy.

Bristol City close in on Ross McCrorie
Bristol City are said to have held off interest from the likes of Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion to sign McCrorie and it is testament to the progress made by the player since leaving Rangers.
Once considered the brightest young talent in the club’s youth set-up, McCrorie made 55 appearances for the club after earning his debut in 2017.
But the former Scotland U21 international struggled to hold down a place and he was eventually loaned to Aberdeen in the 20/21 season.
After Rangers negotiated a pre-contract with Aberdeen winger Scott Wright, Bristol-City bound McCrorie was sold to Aberdeen permanently but Ross Wilson managed to insert a sell-on fee into the deal.
Brother Robby McCrorie remains at Rangers with manager Michael Beale even suggesting the goalkeeper has the number one jersey heading into the final few games of the season.
