West Ham have been forced to cool interest in Rangers’ Champions League Playoff rivals PSV Eindhoven and their highly-rated Ivorian midfielder Ibrahim Sangare.
According to the Daily Mail, David Moyes’ side were weighing up a £25m move for the talented 24-year-old Ivory Coast international with the links appearing ahead of the crunch Ibrox clash.

This comes after Everton beat the Hammers to the signing of Lille midfielder Amadou Onana, who has moved to Goodison Park in a reported £34m deal [Daily Mail].
But after Ibrahim Sangare signed a new contract at PSV, tying him to the club until 2027, according to the Sun it’s left both West Ham and Man United needing to look elsewhere.
Whilst we highly doubt PSV would’ve let such a highly-rated player leave ahead of the Champions League Playoff, the links highlight just how well-thought of Ibrahim Sangare is around Europe.
As highlighted by Patrick Caskie – a popular source for data-driven analysis on Twitter – the well-rounded Sangare is a real asset for PSV that Rangers will need to be aware of.

The Daily Mail report also claimed that there are several Premier League sides interested in the midfielder with Italian giants Serie A also exploring a loan-to-buy for the player.
This suggests that Ibrahim Sangare is a name on the radar of several clubs and the defensive midfielder is surely set for bigger and better things if he continues his trajectory at the Philips Stadion.
In the mean time, Rangers will be preparing for the former Toulouse midfielder’s technique and athleticism with the Ivorian just one of several threats in Ruud van Nistelrooy’s talented side.

Another whose been linked with the Premier League – and namely Man United – is £35m-rated attacker Cody Gakpo.
However, for any Rangers fans hoping that the Red Devils may hurry a deal ahead of the Champions League Playoff, according to the Daily Record PSV won’t let the winger leave before the two-legged tie is complete.
Another high-profile name who needs no introduction to Rangers supporters is also likely to line up for PSV at Ibrox next week.
