Nils Koppen will be trying to ignore the noise from the outside as he looks to get more right than wrong from Rangers’ recruitment in the summer.
The margin for error is small with a Rangers squad still in desperate need of repair and every area of the team needing improvement.
One other issue is that there are players who simply aren’t good enough, including recent signings under Koppen.
Someone might look good on paper, however, playing at Ibrox and in the SPFL isn’t for everyone.
The first link to get excited about is Dor Turgeman who Rangers scouted and who is a carbon copy of an £80m rated England international.

Rangers target Dor Turgeman is Ollie Watkins regen
What Koppen is looking for is a striker who can do everything for Rangers.
Capable of running the channels and in behind against European and better domestic opponents, but also of finding space and linking play against packed SPFL defences.
Using Data MB’s comparison model, Turgeman is an almost exact statistical match for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, a player valued at £80m when Arsenal were reported to be sniffing around in January.
Watkins is the perfect, modern No.9.
Mobile, physical, athletic, can finish with either foot and his head and can create chances for others too.

As far as templates go for strikers, he isn’t a bad one to set as an example.
At 21-year old, over 6ft tall and with 23 goal contributions in 35 games this season, it is easy to see why Turgeman is attracting interest.
He’s also played 100 games for a team that demands success, he’s had a solid foundation to his professional career before making a real breakthrough in 2024/25.
Turgeman has been valued at £5m if Rangers want to follow up their interest, which suggests that the Maccabi Tel Aviv striker would be a replacement for someone who departs in the summer.
Who would Turgeman be replacing
Cyriel Dessers marked his 100th game with his 45th goal for Rangers, it might have taken the 30-year old a lot of attempts at goal, but he got there in the end.
To reach 100 games in less than two seasons shows his resilience, for perspective, Danilo has played just 41.
With a goal contribution every 100 minutes, Dessers’ return can’t really be questioned, and it could well be the Brazilian who is sold to make room.
Again, it isn’t just signing players that Koppen will be judged on, it will be how much he makes for those who leave to help fund moves for players like Turgeman.
