Rangers target Bryan Reynolds set to complete £3.9m transfer

Rangers have been linked with a move for Westerlo right-back Bryan Reynolds over the last few weeks.

James Tavernier and Max Aarons’ exits this summer have left the Light Blues shy in the right-back department.

Rangers have signed Ross McCrorie, but even with his arrival, Dujon Sterling remains the only other option in that area.

Sterling has faced issues with his fitness in recent seasons, giving Derek McInnes a decision to make about signing another player there.

Bryan Reynolds is set to join Stade Rennais for £3.9m fee

The Light Blues are set to miss out on the services of Reynolds as he is set to join French club Stade Rennais, according to Voetbal Nieuws.

The Belgian club will be receiving a £3.9m fee for the 25-year-old, who is all set to finalise his exit in the coming days.

He was signed for £3m from Roma in 2023, so they are selling him for a profit after developing him into one of the best defenders in the country.

Derek McInnes will be aiming to win the title!

Rangers were going head-to-head with Stade Rennais for his services, but have ended up losing out to them.

He appeared to be moving to Rennes for £3.5m, but it is understood to be a little more than that.

It is unclear if the Gers will turn to their other right-back targets following this development.

What Rangers’ transfer plans are in the coming weeks

Rangers have signed three players already, but plenty of work is still to be done ahead of the new season.

Derek McInnes is keen on signing more defenders, probably two centre-backs and a left-back in the coming weeks.

Nasser Djiga and Derek Cornelius returning to their parent clubs following their loan spells leaves the Light Blues short in that department.

Which area should Rangers prioritise on strengthening this summer? 🤔

Andrew Cavenagh has made some bold promises!

The same can be said about Jayden Meghoma at left-back, who is back at Brentford and is not expected to return to Ibrox.

The Gers are also likely to bring in a new central midfielder to replace Nicolas Raskin, who is expected to leave following the World Cup.

New wide attackers are also being targeted as the recruitment team are working on a number of positions.
