Rangers and Celtic are among the clubs linked with a summer move for Sheffield United striker Tyrese Campbell.

The 26-year-old will be entering the final year of his contract at Bramall Lane and could be on the move in the coming months.

However, it still remains to be seen if he can agree on new terms at Sheffield United, as they would not want him to leave on a free after the 2026/27 season.

Rangers continue scouting Tyrese Campbell ahead of summer transfer window

According to the Daily Record, Rangers and Celtic have been scouting the English striker as they will consider whether or not to make a move in the summer.

The Ibrox outfit have already made contact with Sheffield United this year, when they attempted to sign March 2025’s EFL Championship Player of the Month in January.

Before bringing in Ryan Naderi in a deadline-busting deal, the Gers enquired if Campbell would be available either on loan or permanently.

However, United rebuffed any approaches for their striker as they are fighting relegation and need the strongest side possible to stay in the division.

Rangers have held a longstanding interest in the forward as he was on their radar in 2020 as well.

Back then, Campbell was at Stoke City and was available on a free transfer as his deal there was running out.

Danny Rohl has lost just one league game as Rangers manager…

If YOU were to change one thing about his management style for next season, what would it be? 🤔

Why an Ibrox transfer in the summer is unlikely for Campbell

Rangers shelled out big money on strikers this season, bringing in Youssef Chermiti, Naderi and Bojan Miovski.

Of those three, Chermiti and Naderi will surely be there next term, while Miovski could be shipped off.

They are unlikely to bring in Campbell as a third-choice striker and even he may not be too willing to warm the bench at Ibrox.

The striker has scored just six goals this season and is unlikely to be an upgrade on the current attacking options at Rangers.

Danny Rohl will want to build a side that challenges for the league and Campbell does not seem to have the makings to lead the line in a title-winning squad.

There are other positions Rohl would want to strengthen and would ask the board to allocate the funds towards making that happen.
