Rangers star set for surprise deadline day exit as two clubs battle for signature

Rangers are set to let right-back Adam Devine leave on loan as Kilmarnock and Motherwell line up deadline day swoops.

The Ibrox Academy graduate, 20, has found chances at a premium and has only made one appearance for the club this season, coming off the bench in the early-season League Cup win over Greenock Morton.

It certainly points Adam Devine to the Rangers exit door as he looks to get more minutes under his belt this season.

But with little made about a potential exit up until the final day of the window the reports might come as a surprise to some fans.

Adam Devine set for Rangers exit?

Now, reports in the Rangers Review claim the Ibrox side are trying to negotiate a January exit for Adam Devine as he looks to continue his development in the Scottish Premiership.

Kilmarnock – who are chasing a European place under Derek McInnes – are facing defensive issues with Robbie Deas suffering a fractured cheekbone and Corrie Ndaba suspended for two matches.

Motherwell have also just sent young Celtic star Adam Montgomery back to Parkhead after he picked up an injury.

Devine isn’t the only Rangers star being linked to the exit door this deadline day either, with Ridvan Yilmaz and Jose Cifuentes still very much at the centre of transfer chatter.

Kilmarnock and Motherwell want Ibrox right-back

The time looks to have come for Adam Devine to go out from Rangers and earn greater first-team exposure in the men’s game.

Coming through the club’s youth ranks, Devine has shown his qualities already in his young Gers career, deputising at left-back capably during the beginning of Michael Beale’s reign.

In total the Scotland U21 international right-back has made 11 appearances for the Ibrox top team, with Devine making his debut against Dundee United in May 2022.

Motherwell & Kilmarnock certainly pose interesting options for Adam Devine – who has had previous loan stints with Partick Thistle and Brechin City – as the Rangers right-back looks to continue his development.
