Rangers and Galatasaray appear to be around £2 million apart in their valuation of Ridvan Yilmaz with talks over the Turkey international continuing on the final day of the Scottish Premiership window.
While the Super Lig window is due to remain open until February 9th, you can see why Galatasaray are keen to complete a deal as soon as possible. Rangers have until tonight to bring in a replacement for Ridvan Yilmaz, after all, and Philippe Clement’s side may have reservations against letting him return to Istanbul beyond the close of play on Thursday, if no new left-back can be brought in to take his place.
According to Fotospor, the two sides remain around £2 million apart in their valuation of the former Besiktas flyer.

Rangers and Galatasaray in Ridvan Yilmaz talks
Rangers want £4 million, either up front or via a purchase clause to be triggered after an initial loan spell. Galatasaray are hoping to complete a transfer for closer to £2 million, however, though this feels like wishful thinking.
Rangers are unlikely to accept such a substantial loss on a player who joined for £3.5 million during the summer of 2022. Furthermore, Yilmaz would depart in the midst of the best form of his Gers career, impressing in Saturday’s 1-0 win at St Mirren after opening the scoring away to Hibernian a few days earlier.
“I think there’s still a chance he could have a future (at Ibrox),” former Rangers forward McCann tells BBC SportScene, the 22-year-old converting a fine John Lundstram assist at Easter Road.
“If they don’t get a replacement, then I’d find it strange they’d let Ridvan Yilmaz walk out the door.
“If the opportunity comes for the boy to go back to Turkey, which is the suggestion with Galatasaray, I think he’ll take it. But if they don’t get a replacement, I don’t think they should sell him. They should keep him.
“He showed (vs Hibs) there’s something there in him. And Philippe Clement has a knack of getting players to turn in performances.”
Jefte deal breaks down
Rangers were keen to sign Jefte as Yilmaz’s successor, but talks appear to have broken down. Clement’s side could turn their attention to James Penrice, HITC having been told that Livingston’s 25-year-old defender is on their radar.
