Rangers signing Fabio Silva is good news, a forward with a good record at a comparable level who is keen to prove that he can make it at the highest level.
With a £35m price tag over his head he knows what it is like to play under pressure and a weight of expectation.
Someone else who has been used to this is Ianis Hagi and, with Rangers signing Fabio Silva, there is an indication that the son of Romania legend Gheorghe won’t be returning to Ibrox any time soon.

Rangers signing Fabio Silva could end Ianis Hagi return hopes
You would think that the system Philippe Clement plays and who he currently has available that the Gers boss would consider an early end to the playmaker’s loan spell at Deportivo Alaves.
He maybe didn’t play well enough against Real Madrid, according to his manager, but he has still impressed enough to make it onto the same list as players like Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.
It doesn’t take a genius to work out why Hagi might not be back this season.
Rangers have given Fabio Silva Hagi’s number seven shirt that he started the season with.
It’s not quite a nail in the coffin but it’s not exactly a great sign either when Silva could have had the number ten jersey vacated by Steven Davis.
Unless…
Ianis Hagi has already secured first dibs on that number.
Abdallah Sima, Todd Cantwell, Ianis Hagi, Fabio Silva and Danilo, a group of players that instantly looks as if it carries more of a goal threat than some of the squads we have seen recently.
Given the injuries that Clement has had to put up with already, you would like to think that he will want as many options as possible going into the second half of the season.
Hagi offers flexibility across a number of roles and, other than his long term knee injury, has a good record in terms of availability.
Put it this way, would you trust a team with Hagi at 10 more or less than one with Sam Lammers?
Likewise, if you put Hagi on the right-hand side of the attack instead of Scott Wright, would you be more or less confident if a chance fell to the Romanian?
With Rangers signing Fabio Silva early, could Hagi return when the window opens?
We don’t have long to find out with Philippe Clement not giving anything away either.
