Other than Jack Butland, it’s safe to say that the only positive Rangers signing of the summer so far has been Abdallah Sima.
The Senegal international has a respectable six goals in 14 games since joining on loan from Brighton despite a misfiring team and chances being at a premium.
Unfortunately, unlike Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers, he isn’t on a long-term contract but Rangers have to consider picking up the phone to David Weir and making an offer for Abdallah Sima.
Rangers should consider Abdallah Sima offer
The Brighton director of football was positive about the 22-year old heading to Ibrox and saw it as a good opportunity to rediscover the form he showed at Slavia Prague.
There are still areas of his game that he has to work on but it can’t be ignored that he has an uncanny knack of putting the ball in the back of the net.
When everyone returns to full fitness, Rangers attack has to have Abdallah Sima playing on the right hand side.
We’ve seen already that he likes to cut in on his right foot, however, this affects his ability to cross the ball when it is on his left and also his dribbling.
Being on the right would make best use of his attributes and provide better balance to Rabbi Matondo on the other side.
Brighton paid in the region of £6m for Sima according to The Athletic and he is still at an age where he wouldn’t come cheap.
By the end of this season though, he will be into the last year of his contract with the Seagulls and his transfer fee should be within our price range.
Rangers lost a lot of goals in the summer when Antonio Colak and Fashion Sakala left the club but at least Abdallah Sima is trying to do something about it.
An accusation that can’t be thrown at many of his teammates.
