There has been a lot of hope for Rangers fans this season and not necessarily in a good way after the impact that Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers have made.
The forwards were both signed from Serie A and, despite questionable recent form, the hope was that playing in a lesser league and in a dominant side would see them return to their best.
If anything, the opposite has happened and Rangers have a real problem with Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers.

Rangers have big problem in Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers
Had they been signed on free transfers then it would have been easy to move them on in cut-price deals but therin lies the problem.
Rangers paid a reported £3m for Sam Lammers and £4.5m for Cyriel Dessers.
To make things worse, Michael Beale sanctioned the sales of Antonio Colak for circa £2m and Fashion Sakala for £4m.
So, £1.5m worse off and two players who contributed towards over 40 goals last season have departed only to be replaced by what?

Sam Lammers, a player beale said has “great technical and tactical quality” – one goal in 14 games.
Cyriel Dessers who Beale said had a “very specific profile” – three goals in 13 games.
Four goals in 27 games between them for £7.5m.
I’d have backed Ross McAusland and Zak Lovelace to have scored as many and they wouldn’t have cost us £7.5m in the process.

The only saving grace for whatever manager is brave enough to inherit the shambles left behind by Michael Beale is that Danilo, Rabbi Matondo, Todd Cantwell, Tom Lawrence and Kemar Roofe are still to return to full fitness.
Ianis Hagi can also be recalled in January.
Rangers don’t have £7.5m to waste on players and Beale has spent it on two players that he thought he could fix in Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers.
He took a gamble that we couldn’t afford to lose.
And he lost, with the fans picking up the pieces.
