Rangers should cash in on George Edmundson this summer.
Edmundson spent the second half of the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Derby County after making just two Gers first-team appearances over the first six months of the season.

He turned out 10 times for the Rams, helping them stay in the Championship and now a number of clubs are said to be keen on signing him permanently.
Football Insider claims that the Gers have already turned down multiple offers.
Now, there’s nothing wrong with trying to get more money for a player, especially this early on in the summer.
Ultimately, though, it makes sense for Edmundson to leave Ibrox during this window.
The back centre-back showed promise during his first season at Ibrox, impressing in several matches and even scoring an a Europa League Last 16 tie against Bayer Leverkusen.
He’s young, extremely powerful and by all accounts hungry to learn and improve.
However, there’s still a rawness to his game that makes him relatively prone to errors and he’s not currently at the same level as the other central defensive options at the club.
Prior to his loan move, Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun and Filip Helander were all above him in the pecking order, while Jack Simpson took his shirt number when he joined from Bournemouth in the same window.

It only gets tougher going forward, too, with long-term absentee Niko Katic eyeing a return to full fitness for pre-season, while highly-rated youngster Leon King is also pushing for more involvement.
It seems extremely unlikely that Edmundson would be used extensively by Gerrard next season, even though the manager insisted that he needed both the Englishman and Jordan Jones back in November 2020, after they had apologised for breaching Covid-19 restrictions.
Even if a player like Helander is sold it’s hard to see him getting a look in and given that he’s only contracted for another two seasons, now is the time to cash in in order to maximise his value.
Rangers paid £650,000 to Oldham to land the 23-year-old back in the summer of 2019 [Belfast Telegraph] and if a six-figure profit can be made this summer, it’s an option that should be taken.
