Sacked Rangers academy director Craig Mullholland is set to take up a new post with Nottingham Forest in an Ibrox reunion with former sporting director Ross Wilson.

According to the Daily Record, who tweeted the claim on their official Twitter account, Craig Mullholland is set to join up with Ross Wilson at Nottingham Forest.

This comes just over a month on from a dramatic boardroom reshuffle at Rangers which saw Douglas Park, Stewart Robertson, Ross Wilson and Craig Mullholland all officially leave the club in a matter of weeks.

It’s not the first time the former Rangers academy guru has been linked with Nottingham Forest, with reports back in April claiming Ross Wilson wanted Craig Mullholland to join him down south.

The news – which is yet to be made official at the time of writing – comes after Rangers said goodbye to Craig Mullholland after 20 years at the club.

Craig Mullholland linked to Nottingham Forest after 20 year Rangers stint

Back in May, when the announcement was made, seemingly Nottingham Forest-bound Craig Mullholland paid tribute to Rangers as he reflected on his two decades with the club.

“I have loved my 20 years working at the club that I had grown up with, and, in particular, the last eight leading our Academy, B Team and women’s teams,” said Mullholland.

“However, in all leadership positions, sometimes knowing when the right time to move on is as important as deciding which opportunities to take.

“My successor will inherit some fantastic people, working passionately to deliver on a clear strategic vision, underpinned by strong processes and modern, innovative methodology.

“They will also inherit some outstanding young talents which will lead to an exciting future for the club and the Academy over the next few years.

“I am immensely proud of all we have achieved, and I would like to thank John, Stewart, James and all of the current and previous board members for their fantastic support and wish Michael and his staff the very best for the future.

“Above all, I would like to thank each and every one of the young players who drive our motivation and energy every single day.”
