Rangers fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Galatasaray reportedly close in on a deal for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira amid links to Glen Kamara.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Uruguayan international Torreira will deal with the Super Lig side in the coming days worth up to £5.9m (€7m).
This comes amid high-profile links between Galatasaray and Rangers star Glen Kamara, with the Daily Mail suggesting that Turkish giants had a £7m interest in the midfielder.
At the time, Rangers insider Heart & Hand shot down the interest and pointed to an online rivalry with Galatasaray by branding the Turks a “small club”.
Nonetheless, the Daily Mail is generally a strong source in football news and whilst they might’ve got this one wrong Galatasaray appear to have turned their attentions elsewhere with Lucas Torreira.
Galatasaray move for Luca Torreira amid links to Rangers’ Glen Kamara
If the move goes through at the quoted price, Arsenal would also be making a substantial loss on the 26-year-old midfielder.
According to the likes of the Guardian, Arsenal paid a reported £26.5m to bring Lucas Torreira to the club in 2018 meaning they’ll lose north of £20m if the player moves on as per Romano’s claims.
But from a Rangers point of view the Ibrox side will be focused on what happens with the Gers and it’s hard to imagine Galatasaray moving for Glen Kamara if they do sign Torreira.

However, if reports are to be believed then the Turkish giants aren’t the only ones with one eye on the Ibrox club’s Finland international.
In fact, one reported suitor is reportedly set to have their transfer coffers boosted by a whopping £50m having failed to replace a midfielder who was sold earlier in the window.
